Costa Rica
For anyone who is looking to get away, I would highly recommend
Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. It is a coastal city filled with lively natives, the
nicest and most extravagant beaches (including white sand), and delicious Costa
Rican food.
During your stay, it is quite possible that you will run into some of the
michievious yet adorable monkeys, but they are always entertaining to watch in
their natural habitat. Also, while you are there, you should take a dip in the
Pacific Ocean. There you will spot assorted crabs, coral, and sea stars.
Not only is it a nice tropical vacation, but the natives are the nicest
people you will ever meet. If you wish to brush up on your Spanish skills, many
of the natives (in any part of the country) are happy to converse with you.
Also while you are there, you can experience traditional American breakfast
foods (pancakes and orange juice) along with tradtional Costa Rican breakfast
foods (rice and beans). This might not sound very appetizing now, but trust me,
it is delicious. This was one of my favorite meals when I visited Costa Rica.
In my world travels, I would say that hands down visiting Costa Rica has
been my most fulfilling and enjoyable trip thus far.
